Welcome to Miami

This vibrant place is a globally recognized city, known for its lively atmosphere and rich, cultural scene.

Miami is a tropical tourist destination on the coast of South Florida that's known around the world for its nightclubs and upscale lifestyle. The City's Latin influence provides a rich cultural flavor that permeates every part of the city — from fashion and cuisine to the music and art scene. In Miami, life is easy and fun, and the beaches beckon you to spend a day with your toes in the sand.

What to Love

  • A coastal town with miles of beaches
  • Globally recognized for its beauty and nightlife scene
  • Vibrant metropolitan city

Local Lifestyle

Miami real estate is booming, and there are many unique neighborhoods that draw hopeful buyers. Some of the most notable neighborhoods include Brickell, Wynwood, Coconut Grove, and the Miami Design District.

Miami may be home to some of the best beaches, restaurants, and nightclubs in the country, but that's not all it's known for. The residents are incredibly welcoming to tourists and transplants alike. The vibe is always chill in Miami, and people are always eager to make new friends and have a good time. Whether you're visiting the hottest nightclub or getting tapas with friends, Miami's scene is one of the friendliest — and most inclusive — in the country.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

Miami is a vibrant town filled with unique restaurants and an impressive art scene. Most famous for its nightlife, South Beach boasts white, sandy beaches, world-renowned restaurants, and high-end shopping spots. Known locally as SOBE, South Beach is home to art museums, world-class hotels, and a vibrant social scene.

Located in Miami, Little Havana is a neighborhood with its own culture and charm. The Cuban flair permeates the entire neighborhood, providing some of the best restaurants in town that serve authentic Cuban cuisine and coffee, and the Latin American art galleries are one-of-a-kind. Best of all, the nightclubs in Little Havana are the perfect places to dance the night away.

Located in South Beach, Lincoln Road offers some of the best luxury shopping in Florida. High-end shops line the street, along with restaurants, galleries, and other businesses. The entire street is pedestrian-friendly, and shoppers don't have to worry about traffic.

Things to Do

Each February, Miami hosts The Food Network South Beach Wine and Food Festival. Over the course of four days, over 450 culinary experts and 1,200 volunteers showcase their talents to over 60,000 visitors, who can sample some of the best cuisines in the world. The event supports Florida Internation University, where volunteers get hands-on experience under the guidance of world-famous professionals. A portion of the proceeds also goes toward scholarships for the school's hospitality and culinary students.

The Coconut Grove Arts Festival has been celebrated for over 59 years in Miami, and residents look forward to the event each year. The festival brings tens of thousands of guests to Miami to celebrate and promote the arts.

Located in the heart of Miami Beach, Art Basel is an international art fair that houses exhibits from five continents and showcases works of Modern and Contemporary art.

Just west of the downtown scene is the Calle Ocho Walk of Fame. Here, you'll find stars on the sidewalk that honor Cuban and Latin celebrities. Along Calle Ocho, you'll find colorful murals and delicious Latin food.

Schools

Miami is home to great public and private school options, along with some notable colleges. They include:

  • Miami-Dade College, Undergraduate and Graduate studies
  • Florida International University, Undergraduate and Graduate studies
